Ghostly International's dedication to the visual arts was furthered in 2010, with the launch of Ghostly International Editions. The aim to cultivate a collective of some of North America’s best artists and designers including Will Calcutt, Sougwen Chung, Michael Cina, Andy Gilmore, Matthew Shlian and Sonnenzimmer. The works of these and other artists in the Ghostly universe will fill the Art Directors Club for a debut gallery showing this September.
Founded in1999, just a stones throw from Detroit, the early Ghostly International agenda was to modernize the music label concept, by pairing its music (Matthew Dear, School Of Seven Bells, Gold Panda) with an inventive visual agenda. Whether it's promoting a statue in place of a traditional music release, or a bento box of tactile gifts, there is a holistic assertion that raw creativity, in its apolitical nature, is an act worth striving to achieve.
To make this event possible, Ghostly has partnered with the people and services they use on a daily basis. The innovators at Incase, Behance and Vimeo, plus the talents of m ss ng p eces will ensure this will be a remarkable event.
